Trust, the cornerstone of a BDSM relationship, essentially what BDSM is based on. The sub relies upon her trust of her Dom to bring her to the limits and back, in fact, her submission requires an extraordinary degree of trust, if not confidence and bravery. Trust becomes the crux of a relationship as someone gets ready to turn their whole life over to someone who, in turn, must have the capacity to care as well as be forthcoming and honest. However, once that trust is shattered, it becomes almost impossible to reestablish. It can never be regained. Interestingly, we have the ability to forgive, yet we may find it impossible to trust. Undoubtedly, damaged trust is usually at the heart of a faltering relationship.. But the level of damage is the key, and that is in the power of the "wronged" party to mend.. I can not claim I loved someone so much that I was willing to forgive them for the transgression that ended my trust... I know I wish I had, and that is more about my actual level of love for them.. Perhaps the formula is: Those breaches of trust that also show a lack of respect are fatal.. Also, lost faith that is more about communication than facts is solvable.. You've reminded me; I have some people to forgive.. : ) Btw.. I love your pic; It should stay for a while; Says a lot about the elements to a good life: Courage, knowledge, faith, freedom, and that fine, interwoven relationship between Independence and dependence..
