There comes a time in life when experience comes over youth - as you say, thinking on the same plane matters and shouldn't be forgotten.

Live life for enjoyment, not short-term prospects.

Carpe Diem - the past is history, and the future is bleak.

Throwaways? No way. When I was newly single (at the age of 56, 13 years ago) I discovered computer dating. (I hadn't known about Alt yet so I just used the two popular ones. In the beginning, with a little midlife crises going, I wanted a younger woman. (I was and still am a runner and triathlete and I looked about 40 years old back then) so it wasn't a stretch to date women 35-40. What I discovered about many of them is 1) They were full of themselves and were more interested in appearance and money, 2) They weren't necessarily good in bed. 3) They didn't know the songs. After about 5 boring dates, I started dating women my age and even older. It was like a breath of fresh air. The woman I eventually married after about a year was within 4 years of my age and was the best lover of all, and she was also smarter, funnier, more on my wave length and she definitely knew the songs. If I had it to do over someone like you would be at the top of the list.
